Seabrook occupies the strip of Harris County where Clear Lake opens into Galveston Bay, about 27 miles southeast of downtown Houston. Highway 146 runs north to south through the middle of it and drops over the Kemah-Seabrook Bridge, NASA Parkway heads west toward the Johnson Space Center, and Todville Road runs along the bay past the old houses, the shipyards and Pine Gully. It is a town of around thirteen thousand people with more boat slips than most cities ten times its size, and that shapes what a group here actually needs from a bus.
Clear Lake is one of the largest recreational boating centers in the country. Between Blue Dolphin Yachting Center, Lakewood Yacht Club, Seabrook Marina and the yards along the waterfront, there are thousands of boats within a few miles of each other, and the social calendar follows the water. Race weekends, regatta send-offs, Wednesday night series, charter parties, the Christmas Boat Lane Parade in December. Every one of those events ends with a group of people who have been in the sun and on the water all day and who should not be driving Highway 146 afterward. That is the honest reason most of our Seabrook work exists.
The other half is simply that Seabrook is a jumping-off point. Kemah is five minutes over the bridge. Space Center Houston is ten minutes west. Galveston is under an hour south. Downtown Houston is 45 to 55 minutes north depending on when you leave. Groups here almost never spend the whole night inside the city limits, which means somebody has to drive, park and stay sober, or nobody does and you take a bus. The marina pickups are where local knowledge stops being a marketing line and starts being the whole job. Boat yards are not built for coaches. Todville Road is narrow in places with heavy tree cover, several of the marina entrances have gates and card readers, and the turning circles inside were designed around trailers and pickup trucks. We have run into all of it. So when you tell us you want a pickup at Blue Dolphin or at Lakewood, we ask which entrance, we ask whether the group can walk fifty yards, and we size the bus to the access rather than sending a Mega Lounge to a place that physically cannot turn one around.
Old Seabrook is the same story in a different form. The original grid off Second Street and the Back Bay area is charming and completely unsuited to a 40 foot vehicle. For groups staying in the short term rentals down there, we either bring a Sprinter Lounge, which fits, or we set a meeting point out on Highway 146 or Repsdorph Road. Neither of those is a problem if it is agreed in advance. Both are a problem if the bus turns up and discovers it at seven in the evening with everyone standing outside in their good shoes.

Six sizes, priced by the hour:
Seabrook splits cleanly into two kinds of booking. The first is the boat crowd, which is usually eight to twenty people, and that is Sprinter Lounge and LoungeS territory. A racing crew, a charter group, a slip-holder’s birthday. These groups value the smaller buses because they get into the marina lots without drama and because the group is genuinely that size. The second is weddings and corporate work, which run much larger. A wedding at one of the waterfront venues will typically need a Lounge XL or a Mega Lounge for guests, often alongside a Sprinter Lounge for the wedding party and the photo run.
The LoungeX and Lounge Plus+ sit in the middle and get booked for the classic Seabrook night out, twenty-odd people doing dinner and the Boardwalk and then deciding whether to keep going. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Twenty-two people on a bus rated for twenty-three is tight for a six hour night. Standard on every bus: wrap-around leather seating, LED lighting you control, a club grade sound system with a phone hookup so your own music runs, and a bar area with ice and cups that your group stocks. Dance poles are fitted on select buses. If you want one, or specifically do not want one, mention it when you book and we will match the vehicle to that.
This is Seabrook’s signature booking and we do not see it anywhere else in the metro at this volume. A crew comes off the water at Lakewood, Blue Dolphin or Seabrook Marina after a long day of racing, sunburnt and finished, and the last thing that should happen is twelve people getting into six cars. We pick up at the yacht club, run the crew to dinner, and get everyone home. The same applies to the Wednesday night series through the season and to the send-offs and returns around the big offshore races. Book the bus for the day you already know you will need it, because those weekends fill our calendar early.
The waterfront wedding market here is genuinely busy, and it is a logistics problem before it is anything else. The venue is on the water in Seabrook or across the bridge in Kemah. The guests are in hotels strung along NASA Parkway, Bay Area Boulevard and the Gulf Freeway in Webster and Nassau Bay. Getting a hundred and twenty people from there to here and back, in the dark, some of them drinking, is exactly what a shuttle is for. Seabrook groups have an unusual advantage here, which is that the Kemah Boardwalk is five minutes away and Galveston is under an hour. The standard shape is dinner locally, Tookie’s or one of the waterfront places, then over the bridge to the Boardwalk, then a decision. Some parties stay in the Bay Area, some run down to the Strand and the Seawall, some head into Houston for Midtown and Washington Avenue. Milestone birthdays here almost always involve the water or the Boardwalk. Sometimes both. The bus lets a group of twenty do dinner, do the Boardwalk, and end up somewhere completely different without anyone tracking down a designated driver or splitting into cars that get separated on Highway 146. Because you stock the bar area yourself, the drinks cost supermarket money rather than venue money, which on a group that size is a substantial difference. The Johnson Space Center contractor community sits a few minutes west of Seabrook along NASA Parkway and Space Center Boulevard, and the plants in the Bayport industrial district are a few minutes the other way. Both generate the same kind of booking: a team event, a holiday party, a client group being shown the Bay Area, a shift or department celebrating the end of a project. December in Seabrook has its own rhythm. The Christmas Boat Lane Parade brings decorated boats around Clear Lake and the shoreline fills up with people watching. It is a good night for a bus because parking near the water is impossible and the weather is usually cold enough that nobody wants to walk far. Honest drive times under normal conditions.
Around Clear Lake. Kemah and the Boardwalk are five minutes over the bridge and are the single most common destination. Clear Lake Shores is about the same. El Lago, Taylor Lake Village and Nassau Bay are five to ten minutes west along NASA Parkway. Space Center Houston is roughly ten minutes and works well as an early stop before an evening starts. Webster and the Bay Area Boulevard restaurant corridor are 12 to 15 minutes. League City and the South Shore Harbor area are about 15 minutes.
Galveston. Fifty minutes to an hour south on Highway 146 to I-45 and over the causeway. The Strand, the Seawall, Pleasure Pier. This is the big out of town night from Seabrook and it is the one where the bus pays for itself, because Strand parking on a Saturday is genuinely bad and the causeway at one in the morning is not a drive anyone should be doing after a night out.
Downtown and Midtown Houston. Forty-five to fifty-five minutes on a good run, longer if you leave in the Friday afternoon window. Downtown for the ballpark, Toyota Center and the theater district. Midtown and Washington Avenue for bars. EaDo has taken a large share of the nightlife and buses move in and out of it easily.
NRG Stadium and the Rodeo. Around 45 minutes. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo through late February and March is our busiest stretch of the year, and NRG parking during it is a genuine ordeal. See the rodeo transportation page.
Lake Charles casinos. Two and a half to three hours east depending on the Beltway and I-10. Long in a car, easy on a bus.
Airports. Hobby is roughly 30 minutes, Bush Intercontinental about an hour. For a group traveling together, one bus beats a string of rideshares and beats airport parking by a wide margin.
The rates in context:
Hours and date drive the price, not mileage inside the metro. A Seabrook night that stays around Clear Lake and Kemah is usually four or five hours. Add Galveston or Houston and you are realistically at six or seven, because the round trip eats close to two hours before anybody has done anything. Weddings run eight to ten. Casino days to Lake Charles are usually structured as a long day rather than strictly hourly, and we will build that with you on the phone.
Be honest with yourself about the hours when you book. The most common regret we hear is from groups who booked five hours for a plan that clearly needed seven and then spent the last hour of a good night watching the clock. We will tell you if we think your hours are short, because a group that runs out of time is not a group that books us again.
Seasonality is real. Late April and May are prom, graduation and wedding season stacked on top of each other, and they price and book accordingly. December is boat parade and holiday party season. New Year’s Eve is its own thing entirely. None of that is a hidden fee, it is demand, and we tell you what a given date costs when you ask rather than after you have committed. Step one, describe the night. Date, pickup time, headcount, where you are starting and roughly where you want to go. A finished itinerary is not required. Most groups know the start and the end and are vague in the middle, and that is enough for us to size the bus and estimate the hours.
Step two, we quote a flat hourly rate. You get told which bus fits, what it costs per hour and how many hours the plan realistically needs. If we think the number of hours is wrong we say so.
Step three, you hold the date. A deposit locks the vehicle. You receive written confirmation showing the bus, the rate, the hours and the pickup details.
Step four, we confirm before the day. We re-check the pickup address, the stops and any changes. This is where the Seabrook specifics get settled: which marina gate, whether the coach can make the turn, whether Todville is the right approach, whether there is an event on that will tie up Highway 146 or the bridge. That conversation belongs two days early, not on your driveway.
Step five, the chauffeur arrives ahead of time. Standard practice is to be on site before the booked start so loading begins on schedule. Bring your drinks and your playlist. The chauffeur handles route, traffic and parking and stays in contact with whoever is running the group.
Plans change on the night, which is normal. Adding a stop or reordering is usually fine, just tell the chauffeur. Extending past your booked hours depends on whether another booking is scheduled behind you, so ask early in the evening rather than at the end of it.
Party Bus Lounge is licensed and insured for passenger transport, carrying commercial coverage on every vehicle. It is not an exciting selling point but it is the one that matters. Houston has operators working with personal insurance and no proper authority, and their pricing reflects the corners they are cutting. If you are putting thirty people on a bus, ask whoever you book about their coverage and their licensing, and be wary of anyone who gets vague about it.
Our chauffeurs are vetted, background checked and appropriately licensed. Practically speaking, they are also drivers who know these specific roads. Someone who understands how Highway 146 behaves at the Kemah bridge on a summer Saturday, or that NASA Parkway through Clear Lake seizes up around the Space Center at certain hours, will get your group to an eight o’clock reservation. Someone following a phone map will not.
On alcohol, the rule in Texas is straightforward. Passengers 21 and over may drink on a chartered bus when the driver is separated from the passenger cabin, and ours are configured that way. Party Bus Lounge does not sell alcohol. You stock the bar area yourself and we provide ice and cups. Anyone drinking should carry identification. Nobody under 21 drinks, and for school events like prom the buses run completely dry with no exceptions, which is a condition of us accepting the booking. The chauffeur has final authority on all of it. That is not negotiable, because it is what keeps the vehicle legal and the group safe.
Vehicles are cleaned and inspected between bookings. If a bus develops a mechanical problem before your date, we move you onto another one rather than canceling on you. Running six sizes rather than one or two is what makes that possible.
The town is essentially organized around three roads and the water.
Highway 146 is the spine, carrying everything between the Bayport area and La Porte to the north and Kemah, League City and Texas City to the south over the Kemah-Seabrook Bridge. The rebuilt elevated main lanes changed the local traffic pattern noticeably and the frontage roads are now where most of the local business access happens. NASA Parkway, which older residents still call NASA Road 1, runs west from Highway 146 past El Lago, Taylor Lake Village and Nassau Bay to the Johnson Space Center and Space Center Houston. Repsdorph Road and Red Bluff Road handle the inland residential traffic.
Todville Road is the character of the place. It runs north along Galveston Bay past the shipyards, the old bayfront houses, Lakewood Yacht Club and out to Pine Gully Park, which has some of the best bird watching in the county. Seabrook takes its bird sanctuary status seriously and the egret rookeries here are genuinely notable. Meador Park and Hester Garden Park serve the residential side, and the hike and bike trail network ties much of it together.
Old Seabrook, around Second Street and the Back Bay, is the original settlement, now a small district of shops, cafes and short term rentals. This is where the tightest streets are and where we most often use a Sprinter Lounge. On the marina side, Blue Dolphin Yachting Center, Seabrook Marina, the Seabrook Shipyard and Lakewood Yacht Club are the pickups we run most. Lakewood hosts a well known classic car and vintage boat show each spring that fills the whole area.
Seabrook families are in Clear Creek ISD, with Seabrook Intermediate and Bay Elementary in town and high school students heading to the district campuses in League City and Clear Lake. That is why our Seabrook prom pickups almost always run to venues elsewhere in the Bay Area or into Houston. Across the water in both directions you have Kemah and Clear Lake Shores to the south, El Lago and Nassau Bay to the west, and Shoreacres and La Porte to the north.
Seabrook is about 27 miles southeast of downtown Houston. The usual route is NASA Parkway west to the Gulf Freeway and north, or Highway 146 up to Beltway 8, and either way you are looking at 45 to 55 minutes on a normal evening. Weekday afternoons the Clear Lake stretch of NASA Parkway backs up badly around the Johnson Space Center shift change, so we either leave earlier or take Highway 146 and the Beltway instead. That is a routing decision your chauffeur makes on the day based on what the roads are actually doing.
Yes, and it is one of the things we do most here. Lakewood Yacht Club on Todville Road, Blue Dolphin Yachting Center, Seabrook Marina and the Seabrook Shipyard area are all regular pickups. A few of the marina approaches have gates, tight turning circles or low tree cover along Todville, so for a Lounge XL or a Mega Lounge we will sometimes stage in the main lot and have the group walk out rather than trying to turn a full size coach in a boat yard. Five to six hours covers most of them. A night that stays around Clear Lake, dinner at Tookie’s Seafood then over the bridge to the Kemah Boardwalk, fits comfortably in four or five. Anything that goes into Houston for a concert, a game or the Washington Avenue bars needs six or seven, because the round trip alone is close to two hours. Wedding work at the yacht clubs and waterfront venues usually runs eight to ten hours once you include the ceremony, photographs and the guest shuttle.
Regularly. The problem every Clear Lake wedding has is that the venue is on the water in Seabrook or Kemah while the guests are spread across hotels on NASA Parkway, Bay Area Boulevard and the Gulf Freeway in Webster and Nassau Bay. We run continuous loops between the hotel cluster and the venue before the ceremony, hold the bus through the reception, and run the return trips at the end of the night. Larger weddings often use two buses, a smaller one for the wedding party and photographs and a Lounge XL or Mega Lounge for guests.
The Sprinter Lounge and the LoungeS. The older grid around Second Street and the Back Bay area was laid out long before anyone was driving 40 foot coaches through it, and several of those streets have deep tree cover and no room to turn around. The bigger buses are fine on Highway 146, NASA Parkway, Repsdorph and Red Bluff, so if your group needs a Lounge Plus+ or larger we will pick a meeting point on one of those roads. It is a two minute walk and it saves a lot of trouble.
Seabrook nights rarely stay in Seabrook. Five minutes south over the bridge is Kemah, the most common destination on our Seabrook bookings. Twelve minutes west along NASA Parkway is Webster and the Bay Area Boulevard corridor. North on Highway 146 takes you to La Porte and on toward Pasadena.
